Those are all phrases that are being used to convey scarcity.


You also see people scrambling to buy stuff during the last day of the sales. Scarcity can be very powerful and help you to increase sales when done the right way.


It is important to be honest when you are using scarcity as a sales tactic. If you lie, people are not going to trust you anymore. They are going to ignore you even if you use the scarcity tactic.


For example, you can sometimes see a certain shop conducting a closing down sales. Yet, a few months later, when you pass by the same shop, the closing down sales is still going on.


Obviously, this is a red flag. Why do you need to take so many months to close down? Obviously, people know that the sales is fake. Therefore, you hardly see any people buying their products.





Sell More Stuff With Upselling


Any business owner will know that in order to increase revenue, there are two main approaches. The first approach is to get more new customers. The second approach is to get each customer to spend more with you.


Studies have shown that it is easier to sell to someone who has already bought something from you.


It is much harder to sell to a new prospect. Therefore, if you want to increase your revenue, it is better to go with the first approach.


Basically, all you need to do is to add an upsell. Perhaps you are wondering what is the meaning of an upsell.


Well, if you have been to McDonald, upsell is definitely a process that you have been through.


Most probably, every time you buy a meal from McDonald, the service staff will ask you a question. He will ask you whether you want to upsize your drink. If you say yes, you are going to pay more money for the upsize.


This is called upsell. Obviously, some people are going to take up the offer. They will buy the upsell.


Can you see that this is a very smart approach? You can easily generate more revenue simply by asking a simple question.


Don’t worry about whether your customers will take up the offer. Let them decide for themselves. Your role is simply to present the upsell to them.


Here is a fact. If you don’t present the upsell to them, you will not earn the extra revenue. On the other hand, if you present the upsell to them, some of them will take up the offer.
